Ukrainian defenders win firefights against Russian soldiers in 90% of cases, Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrskyi said.
"The results of training are clear. Ukrainian servicemen demonstrate a high level of preparation, while the enemy suffers heavier losses. When groups of soldiers engage in a firefight, our warriors prevail over the adversary in 90% of cases," he said.
Syrskyi stressed that combat training is a key factor in increasing effectiveness and preserving the lives of Ukrainian troops, adding that the training process remains under his constant supervision.
He also said that the sixth edition of the training program has now been introduced. The training period has been extended to 51 days, with an additional adaptation phase of up to 14 days depending on circumstances.
"The number of instructors with combat experience is increasing, and the material base is being developed. Safety is the priority. The maximum number of training sessions is held in protected facilities," the Commander-in-Chief said.
Syrskyi previously announced that requirements for basic combined-arms training in the Armed Forces would be revised. He also said the School of Instructors of the Ground Forces will be strengthened, with a focus on quality rather than quantity.
In addition, a new mechanism for reinforcing brigades with new recruits will be introduced. It envisions a monthly distribution of servicemen among combat brigades based on their deployment along the front line.
Earlier, RBC-Ukraine reported that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said all combat brigades of the Armed Forces would be guaranteed monthly reinforcements.
