Ukrainian forces achieved success in the area of Staromaiorske village in the Donetsk region. As of now, the defense forces are consolidating their positions at the attained frontlines, reported the spokesperson of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Andrii Kovaliov, during a live broadcast from the Military Media Center.
The Ukrainian defense forces continue their offensive operations in the directions of Bakhmut, Melitopol, and Berdiansk. They are securing their positions at the gained frontlines and launching artillery strikes while also conducting counter-battery measures.
"They succeeded in the Staromaiorske direction. They are now consolidating their positions at the attained frontlines. The enemy continues to offer strong resistance, moving its units and employing reserves," Kovaliov revealed.
Lyman-Kupiansk direction
The Ukrainian military continues to hold back the Russian offensive at the Kupiansk and Lyman directions.
"The enemy's attempts to advance were unsuccessful in areas northwest of Orikhiv-Vasylivka, south of Ivanivka, and west of Klishchiivka," the spokesperson added.
At the same time, the enemy is fiercely resisting, deploying reserves, and suffering significant losses.
"Heavy battles are ongoing. Over the past 24 hours, there have been 35 combat clashes," Kovaliov added.
