On the night of October 4, Ukraine’s Defense Forces carried out strikes on a number of important facilities and targets within the Russian Federation, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Oil refinery

That night, Ukrainian forces struck the Kirishinefteorgsintez enterprise located in the city of Kirishi, Leningrad region.

“Explosions and a fire were recorded at the site. The results of the strike are being clarified,” the General Staff reported.

It is worth noting that the Kirishi Oil Refinery is one of the largest refineries on the territory of the aggressor state. Its annual capacity is 18.4 million tons of oil processing per year.

Missile ship

In addition, in the area of Lake Onega, located in the Republic of Karelia, a small missile ship of the Buyan-M class was damaged. The extent of the damage is currently being determined.

What is known about the Buyan-M

It is a Russian multifunctional coastal-based warship designed for striking surface targets, supporting coastal operations, and defending the littoral zone. Its armament includes Kalibr cruise missiles, anti-aircraft systems, and artillery, enabling it to strike both maritime and land targets.

Other targets

That night, the Defense Forces also struck the Garmon radar complex and a transport-loading vehicle from the Iskander missile system in the Kursk region.

At the same time, a strike was carried out on the command post of the 8th Army of the Russian Armed Forces, located in the temporarily occupied territory of the Donetsk region. The target was hit, and the results are being verified.

Response to Russian terror

Earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy warned that Ukrainian defenders would respond to Russian attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.

Zelenskyy also noted that if Russia continues to strike Ukraine’s energy facilities, there will be a "blackout in Moscow."
