Ukrainian military destroyed a new development of the Russian military-industrial complex, the Klin strike drone, which was positioned as a Shahed-like unmanned aerial vehicle with artificial intelligence, according to the 118th Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Destroyed during one of its first combat sorties
According to military sources, on February 10, the drone entered the unit's area of responsibility and was quickly intercepted and destroyed. The Russian innovation was eliminated less than four months after its official presentation in October 2025.

The Russians claimed that the drone was capable of autonomously detecting and striking targets at a distance of up to 120 km, but during its first use, it was quickly neutralized by the Ukrainian military.
Klin drone characteristics
According to published data, the drone has:
- Take-off weight - 13.5 kg;
- Flight speed - 108-300 km/h;
- Wingspan - 1.9 m;
- Maximum flight altitude - up to 2 km;
- Warhead weighing up to 5 kg;
- Ability to use a cumulative or high-explosive warhead.
Recently, the Russian military acquired a new jet drone, the Geran-5, according to the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine. According to their data, the device can reach speeds of up to 600 km/h.
The intelligence service notes that the drone's design is similar to the Iranian Karrar, and most of its components are identical to those of other drones in the Geran series, which are manufactured in Alabuga. Russia is also working on the possibility of launching this drone from a Su-25 attack aircraft.
