Ukrainian positions on the frontline have noticeably strengthened in recent times, and since the beginning of the year, the Defense Forces have liberated around 590 square kilometers of territory, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Situation at the front and assessment of dynamics

According to Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Ukraine’s positions are currently stronger than in previous years.

He emphasized that since the start of the year, about 590 square kilometers of territory have been returned under Ukrainian control.

The President noted that the current trend does not align with Russian interests. He said Ukraine continues to improve its performance, including in eliminating enemy personnel.

Pressure on Russia and the choice of scenario

Zelenskyy stated that the combination of military results and sanctions in various forms is gradually pushing Russia toward a choice between continuing the war and engaging in a diplomatic process.

He stressed that Ukraine and its partners are currently focusing efforts on intensifying diplomatic efforts.

Intelligence data and international contacts

The President said Ukrainian intelligence has information about Russia’s military and political plans regarding Ukraine.

According to him, this data has been shared with international partners.

Zelenskyy also noted that feedback is expected from the American side regarding possible formats and timelines for future negotiations.

Military command briefing

The President also reported on a briefing by Ukraine’s Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi.

According to him, the results of the long-range strikes are being observed and are already producing an effect.

Ukraine, Zelenskyy stressed, continues to achieve its objectives on Russian territory, primarily targeting oil refining facilities.

A meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Hungarian Prime Minister Péter Magyar will take place at a time and location to be agreed through diplomatic channels between Kyiv and Budapest.

It is also noted that, according to available data, Russia is considering five possible scenarios of escalation in the Chernihiv–Kyiv direction. In response, Ukraine plans to strengthen its military presence in the area, taking into account potential risks and the threat of expanded hostilities.
