Ukrainian forces liberate Udachne in Donetsk region, raising national flag

Ukrainian forces liberated the settlement of Udachne in the Donetsk region and raised the Ukrainian flag in the area, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports.
In particular, the General Staff published information about a successful operation on the hottest front line - the Pokrovsk direction.
“Clearing the settlement of Udachne in the Donetsk region and raising the flag. Pokrovsk direction. Glory to Ukraine!” the statement says.
Currently, the Ukrainian military has not provided any further details.
Udachne
The settlement is located in the Pokrovsk district, Donetsk region, approximately 6 km from the front line. It has become an important point on the railway line. Until 2024, the settlement had a population of about 300 people.
During periods of active fighting, the settlement became the target of numerous shelling by Russian forces. In particular, on December 17, 2024, Russian troops shelled the settlement with artillery, wounding four local mine workers.
Situation in Donetsk region
Earlier, Ukrainian defenders managed to liberate the settlement of Novoekonomichne from Russian occupation. It is located near Pokrovsk.
Meanwhile, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukrainian forces are achieving “very positive results in Donbas” and are preparing “good surprises for the Russians.”
According to the morning report from the General Staff, the fiercest fighting occurred in the Pokrovsk direction - Ukrainian forces repelled 46 attacks.
