The Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed a Russian tricolor that the Russian troops had raised at the Myrnohradvuhillia mine to fake frontline achievements, according to the 7th Air Assault Corps on Telegram.

According to the military, yesterday, 13 November, Russian forces used a "flagpole" tactic and raised a tricolor cloth at the Myrnohradvuhillia mine on the southeastern outskirts of Myrnohrad.

The Air Assault Forces explained that this was an attempt by the Russian troops to exert informational and psychological pressure on the defenders of the Pokrovsk agglomeration and to create the illusion of a full presence in the city, despite having no ability to actually hold the area.

Servicemen of the 38th Separate Marine Brigade used an FPV drone to destroy the Russian flag. They also located and eliminated two Russian infantrymen who had raised the tricolor.

"Overall, the situation in Myrnohrad is difficult. The Russians occasionally manage to infiltrate the city in small groups of one to two people. But our troops, through coordinated search-and-strike operations, eliminate the occupiers," the military added.

Fighting for Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad

The pace of the Russian offensive in Pokrovsk and the surrounding area has temporarily slowed. At the same time, the enemy continues attempts to intercept and block the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ logistics routes near Myrnohrad.

Major Andrii Kovalov, spokesperson for the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, told RBC-Ukraine that Ukrainian units confidently hold their positions and are destroying Russian troops both on the approaches to Myrnohrad and within the urban area of Pokrovsk.

The General Staff also refuted Russian propaganda claims of an alleged "encirclement of Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad."

Andriy Kovalenko, head of the Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council’s Center for Countering Disinformation, clarified that very heavy fighting is indeed ongoing in Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad, but there is no encirclement, as previously claimed by Russia.
