Units of Missile Forces and Artillery of the Defense Forces successfully struck the command post of the Russian military group Kursk in Rylsk, Kursk region, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) reports.

It is noted that the strike was carried out today, January 31. As a result of the attack, the command post was destroyed.

At the moment, no further details of the operation have been disclosed.

"This operation is part of a systematic effort to eliminate enemy command posts, depriving them of the ability to effectively coordinate combat operations and logistics. The Defense Forces of Ukraine continue to inflict losses on the occupying troops, destroying their command structure and reducing their offensive potential," stated the General Staff of the AFU.

Fighting in the Kursk region

In summer 2024, Ukrainian forces launched an offensive in the Kursk region, breaking through enemy lines and taking control of part of the territory.

Later, the enemy managed to recapture certain areas, but the Defense Forces continue to hold dozens of settlements, including the city of Sudzha.

Russia, in turn, has deployed troops from the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) to the fighting, who are currently suffering massive losses.

In early January, Ukrainian soldiers captured two North Korean troops for the first time.
