Ukrainian defenders struck the Russian Buk-M3 air defense system, destroying the launcher along with its ammunition, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The footage shows operators from the UAV Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, specifically soldiers from the 14th Separate UAV Regiment. The operation demonstrated excellent coordination among the units.

According to the defenders, after locating the target, the fighters immobilized it, tracked it for some time, and then destroyed it, causing the ammunition to detonate and destroy the Buk-M3 system.

What we know about the Buk-M3

The Buk-M3 is a modern Russian air defense missile system capable of intercepting aerial targets at distances of up to 70 km.

According to open sources, the enemy uses this system to engage targets in the air, on land, and at sea. The estimated cost of one such system is around $45 million.

"The destruction of these systems causes the enemy millions in losses and opens up airspace for further operations by the Ukrainian defense forces," the General Staff stated.

Recall that, according to the Ukrainian General Staff, Russia has lost 1,183 air defense systems since the start of the full-scale war against Ukraine.

On June 7, the Air Forces shot down a Russian Su-35 fighter over Russia, near the Kursk direction.
