Russia's losses in Ukraine as of June 8: +1,100 troops, 42 artillery systems

Over the past day, from June 7 to 8, the Russian forces lost 1,120 soldiers, one aircraft, and 211 pieces of equipment on the front line, according to the data from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The total combat Russian losses from February 24, 2022, to June 8, 2025, are estimated to be:
- personnel - about 996 150 (+1120) Russian troops were eliminated;
- tanks - 10 911 (+7);
- troop-carrying AFVs - 22 748 (+11);
- artillery systems - 28 892 (+42);
- MLRS - 1,410;
- anti-aircraft systems - 1,183 (+2);
- aircraft - 414 (+1);
- helicopters - 337;
- UAV operational-tactical level - 39 651 (+158);
- cruise missiles - 3315 (+7);
- warships/boats - 28;
- submarines - 1;
- vehicles and fuel tanks - 51 225 (+146);
- special equipment - 3911 (+3).
Russian airstrikes
On Saturday, June 7, Ukrainian forces destroyed a Russian Su-35 fighter jet in the Kursk direction.
That same night, Russian forces also launched Shahed attack drones toward Ukraine.
Meanwhile, in Novomoskovsk, Tula region (Russia), drones struck the Azot chemical plant, causing a fire. The facility produces nitric acid used in manufacturing HMX and RDX, explosives commonly found in artillery shells.
Additionally, Russian forces used a strike drone to attack a village in the Zaporizhzhia region, injuring an elderly man.
