On August 16, as a result of an operation by the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Ukrainian forces destroyed a warehouse of ammunition and eliminated Russian troops sent to the Zaporizhzhia direction in temporarily occupied Melitopol, Zaporizhzhia region, according to the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense on Telegram.
How it happened
The explosion occurred as an enemy truck carrying personnel arrived at the occupiers' deployment point in the industrial zone near Korvatskyi Passage.
According to preliminary data, at least six Russian marines and members of the UAV crew from the so-called Kadyrov battalion Akhmad-Vostok were killed.
The exact number of casualties, both fatal and wounded, is being determined.
As a result of the explosion, the ammunition warehouse caught fire, and the sound of secondary detonations was heard. The occupiers sent four ambulances to the scene.
The operation significantly weakened the enemy's logistics in the Zaporizhzhia direction and inflicted losses on Russian manpower and equipment.
It should be recalled that Ukrainian intelligence officers are effectively destroying enemy drones on the front line. HUR fighters have released footage of anti-drone operations.
