Ukraine’s Defense Forces carried out local counterattacks and made advances in several areas along the front, according to the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
Ukrainian forces launched a counterattack in the Kharkiv sector near Kozacha Lopan. The move allowed Ukrainian troops to halt the Russian offensive in the area.
Russian and Ukrainian forces also carried out attacks around Borova. However, according to analysts, neither side managed to make any advances.
At the same time, Ukrainian forces advanced in central Kostiantynivka. Analysts noted that Russia continues to exaggerate its gains in the area as part of a disinformation campaign.
Ukrainian troops also made advances northeast of Oleksandrivka. Russian forces attempted to advance near Huliaipole but failed.
In Zaporizhzhia region, Ukrainian forces also made gains west of Orikhiv. According to the report, Ukrainian troops advanced northeast of Stepove.
Situation on the front
Recently, Ukraine’s Defense Forces also thwarted a new Russian offensive operation in Sumy region.
Ukrainian forces also advanced in northern Kharkiv region and disrupted another Russian operation there.
Meanwhile, Russian military losses on the battlefield have already exceeded the number of contract soldiers recruited each month. In July, Russian forces lost at least 40,000 troops killed and wounded.
At the same time, preparations for a possible new wave of mobilization are reportedly underway in several Russian regions. Training grounds are being inspected to determine whether they are ready to accommodate large numbers of people.
