Ukraine’s Defense Forces have advanced in the northern Kharkiv region and successfully disrupted a new Russian operation there, according to the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
According to US analysts, Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers advanced north of Bilyi Kolodiaz (north of the city of Kharkiv – ed.).
This is also confirmed by geolocated video footage released the day before.
In addition, Ukrainian forces thwarted a new enemy plan on this section of the front.
“Ukrainian forces recently thwarted a Russian flag-raising mission in the Vovchansk direction,” ISW emphasized.
This information was also confirmed by Ukraine’s State Border Guard Service. It recently stated that the Defense Forces struck Russian personnel who were attempting to carry out a flag-raising operation in the Vovchansk direction.
“Russian flag raising missions are part of the Kremlin’s cognitive warfare effort to project a false impression of Russian gains,” US analysts explained.
On August 18 and 19, the Russian army continued limited offensive operations in the Velykyi Burluk direction. However, Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers did not allow the enemy to advance.
By the way, it recently became known that Russia may have lost two Kalibr missile-launching ships at once.
Moreover, it emerged that Ukraine’s Defense Forces successfully counterattacked in one direction of the front.
