In a military update on the situation as of 6:00 p.m. Kyiv time on February 9, the following was reported:
“In Myrnohrad, Ukrainian units control the northern part of the city. The enemy is intensifying pressure on the northern areas, and gunfights with the enemy are ongoing in the city center,” the report stated.
They also added that the defense forces are carrying out targeted search-and-strike operations to prevent further advances by the Russian units.
Specifically, Ukrainian troops are destroying enemy military equipment that the Russians are trying to use to support their assault operations.
Frontline situation
A few days ago, Ukraine’s Air Assault Forces also reported that the situation in Myrnohrad near Pokrovsk had significantly worsened. The enemy intensified attacks and began bringing heavy equipment, including artillery, into the city center.
“Over the past week, the operational situation in Myrnohrad has significantly deteriorated. The defense forces are focusing their main efforts on the northern outskirts of the city, where active combat is ongoing, to prevent further enemy advances,” the report stated.
Earlier, in mid-January, the Operation Task Force "East" noted that logistics in Myrnohrad were challenging. To strengthen the supply capabilities for Ukrainian troops, measures were taken to expand logistical corridors to the city.
