Ukrainian Defense Forces managed to advance in the Kharkiv, Donetsk, and Zaporizhzhia regions despite attempts by the Russian army to halt their offensive operations, according to a report by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).

Ukrainian advances in the Kharkiv region

In the Kupiansk direction, Ukrainian troops recently advanced southwest of Dvorichna, which is located north of Kupiansk. This is also confirmed by geolocated footage.

At the same time, Russian sources report a possible Ukrainian advance southeast of Borova. According to a Kremlin-linked military blogger, Ukrainian forces counterattacked near Katerynivka, Nove, and Ridkodub and seized territory between Nove and Katerynivka.

He also claimed that the Russian grouping near Shandryholove risks being encircled and that Russia is likely losing control of the settlement. At the same time, Russian forces continue to strike Ukrainian positions in the area.

Ukrainian advances in the Donetsk region

In the Dobropillia direction, Ukrainian troops also recently restored or expanded their positions. Geolocated videos from August 26 confirm Ukrainian advances in Vodianske and Krasnopillia, south of Dobropillia.

Moreover, Ukrainian troops likely hold positions or advanced in Matiashove, west of Vodianske, as well as in Dobropillia itself. These reports contradict Russian claims about the capture of certain areas.

At the same time, a Russian military blogger claimed that the Russian army captured Zolotyi Kolodiaz and advanced near Novovodiane, Bilozetske, and Dobropillia. However, these claims are not supported by available geolocated data.

Ukrainian advances in the Zaporizhzhia region

The Ukrainian Defense Forces advanced in the western Zaporizhzhia region. Geolocated footage published on August 26 indicates that Russian forces struck a Ukrainian position in the central part of Mala Tokmachka, southeast of Orikhiv.

The area had previously been under the control of Russian forces.

In addition, Ukrainian troops continue to strike Russian equipment in the occupied part of the Zaporizhzhia region. In particular, there was a successful strike on enemy vehicles near occupied Tokmak, approximately 27 km from the front line.

On August 26, Ukrainian forces had advanced in several sectors of the front at once.

In addition, it became known who exactly helped Russia make Shahed drones even more dangerous.
