Ukrainian forces pushed the enemy out of the village of Chuhunivka in Kharkiv region, raised the national flag, and took Russian soldiers prisoner, the 16th Army Corps press service reported.

According to military officials, Russian forces attempted to covertly infiltrate defensive positions in the area of the village of Chuhunivka, taking advantage of difficult weather conditions.

However, the movement of the enemy group was detected in time using reconnaissance drones.

"Despite bad weather, operators of reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicles detected an enemy group promptly," the statement said.

To push Russian forces back, a specialized infantry company, Shkval, was deployed and carried out a clearing operation in the settlement. As a result of the clash, some Russian soldiers surrendered and were taken prisoner.

Ukrainian Defense Forces also raised the Ukrainian flag in Chuhunivka.

"Settlement is under the control of the Ukrainian Defense Forces," defenders emphasized.
