Ukrainian FM: Relations with US strengthening, no pressure involved

Ukraine-US relations continue to develop, with no talk of pressure from Washington, stated Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha during a joint press conference with German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock.
"We should not talk about pressure but rather about the development and intensification of our relations with the US. We see a great opportunity to accelerate efforts aimed at achieving a just and comprehensive peace for Ukraine," the Minister emphasized.
He noted that a just peace is a strategic goal for both Ukraine and the United States, aligning with American national interests and those of the transatlantic community. According to Sybiha, Ukraine is interested in further deepening dialogue with the US at all levels.
"We strongly hope that these efforts will lead to the desired outcome of a just and comprehensive peace," he stressed.
Trump's threats
The US has recently offered Ukraine a new draft agreement on minerals. According to media rumours, it provides for unfavourable terms for Ukraine.
As political analyst Maksym Nesvitailov noted in a commentary on the RBC-Ukraine YouTube channel, the conditions of the new agreement proposed by the US are similar to colonial ones.
Reacting to the proposal, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed that it was too early to talk about signing the agreement.
For his part, US President Donald Trump accused Zelenskyy of not wanting to conclude the deal. The American leader threatened the Ukrainian President with "big problems".
