Ukrainian drones strike Tolyattikauchuk plant 880 km from Ukraine

What is known about the attack

The Ukrainian Unmanned Systems Forces confirmed that the strike on the facility took place on the night of September 12.

According to their information, operators from the 1st Separate Center of the Unmanned Systems Forces, together with other components of Ukraine's Defense Forces, struck the plant in the Samara region.

The Unmanned Systems Forces said the attack was part of systematic operations targeting facilities that underpin Russia's military-industrial complex.

The Ukrainian side is currently assessing the consequences of the strike and the extent of the damage.

What does Tolyattikauchuk produce?

The plant specializes in producing synthetic rubber, monomers, fractions and high-octane fuel components.

The facility's products are also important for Russia's industrial sector. The synthetic rubber produced at the plant is used, among other things, in the production of solid rocket fuel for tactical and ballistic missiles.

Thus, the facility is among the industrial sites whose products can be used to support Russia's military-industrial complex.

We remind you that on the morning of September 12, Russia's Defense Ministry claimed that Ukraine had launched a massive drone attack.

The Russian side claimed that its air defenses had allegedly destroyed and intercepted 230 drones over 12 Russian regions, as well as occupied Crimea and the waters of the Black and Azov seas.

Amid the attack, fires were reported in Taganrog, as well as a possible strike on the Taganrog-Central military airfield.
