Ukraine launches massive drone attack on Russia, striking chemical plant and airfield

On the morning of September 12, Russia’s Defense Ministry officially acknowledged that Ukraine had launched another massive drone attack on various regions of the aggressor country, Russia’s Defense Ministry stated.
The Russian Defense Ministry said it had been repelling the Ukrainian attack from 8:00 p.m. on September 11 until 8:00 a.m. on September 12.
Russia’s Defense Ministry claims that its air defenses allegedly intercepted and destroyed 230 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones.
Notably, the enemy has not disclosed the exact number of drones used by Ukraine’s Defense Forces in the latest aerial attack.
The Russian Defense Ministry said Ukrainian drones were shot down over:
- Astrakhan region;
- Belgorod region;
- Bryansk region;
- Volgograd region;
- Voronezh region;
- Kursk region;
- Lipetsk region;
- Oryol region;
- Penza region;
- Rostov region;
- Samara region;
- Saratov region;
- temporarily occupied Crimea.
In addition, Russia’s Defense Ministry claimed that drones were intercepted over the waters of the Sea of Azov and the Black Sea.
Meanwhile, it became known this morning that a chemical plant in Tolyatti was among the targets hit by Ukrainian forces this time. According to the latest information, the facility is KuibyshevAzot.
Several fires reportedly broke out in Taganrog, according to OSINT sources. In particular, reports indicated that a tank caught fire at the site of a local automobile plant.

In addition, drones likely struck the Taganrog-Central military airfield overnight. The 708th Military Transport Aviation Regiment is based there, while the 325th Aircraft Repair Plant is located nearby.
