Ukrainian drones hit two Russian oil refineries, fires erupt

Ukrainian drones hit the Ilsky Oil Refinery in Krasnodar Krai and the Syzran Oil Refinery in Samara region overnight on August 8, according to the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine's Defense Ministry and the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to the report, on the night of August 8, operators from the Main Intelligence Directorate's Department of Active Operations and Department of Unmanned Systems struck the Ilsky Oil Refinery in Krasnodar Krai as part of a deep-strike operation in Russia.
The attack caused a fire at the refinery, which provides resources for Russia's criminal war against Ukraine.
The Ilsky Oil Refinery has six processing units with a total capacity of approximately 6.6 million tons of oil per year.
The facility receives, stores and processes hydrocarbon feedstock and produces and ships petroleum products. Its products are used, among other things, to meet the needs of the Russian armed forces.

The Syzran Oil Refinery in Syzran, Samara region, Russia, was also hit.
A strike on the facility was recorded, followed by a fire on the refinery's premises.
The Syzran Oil Refinery is part of the Rosneft oil complex. The facility has a designed capacity of approximately 8.5 million tons of oil per year.
The refinery produces more than 20 types of petroleum products, including motor fuels and road bitumen. It is one of the key facilities in the oil refining industry of Samara region and supplies fuel, including to the Russian armed forces.
It should be recalled that earlier we reported that Ukrainian drones hit another 12 vessels from Russia's "shadow fleet" in the Black and Azov seas within a week.
