Ukraine's drones struck the Samara hub, the largest oil storage facility in Europe, according to the Unmanned Systems Forces' (SBS) Telegram channel.

The target was the Samara Linear Production Dispatch Station (LPDS) near the settlement of Prosvet. The facility was struck by operators of the 1st Separate Center of the Unmanned Systems Forces.

The SBS described it as a major hub used to receive, store, and blend Russian oil. According to the military, the station is involved in supporting the needs of the Russian army.

It is part of the oil infrastructure that helps Russia wage war against Ukraine.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that oil facilities in the Samara and Volgograd regions had been struck over the past 24 hours.

The Defense Forces also targeted airfields, industrial enterprises, oil refineries, a rocket and space center, and an ammunition depot in several Russian regions and in the Black Sea.

As previously reported by RBC-Ukraine, the Samara LPDS caught fire following overnight explosions in Samara, according to the Telegram channel Astra.

The station is part of the Transneft system, covers more than 216 hectares, and has storage tanks with a total capacity exceeding 1.6 million cubic meters of oil.
