Ukrainian experts on drone interception will arrive in the Middle East as early as next week, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced during a briefing in Kyiv with Dutch Prime Minister Rob Jetten.

The president said the Ukrainian team will be able to immediately assist with their capabilities upon arrival.

"I think next week, when the experts are on-site, they will assess the situation and help directly, because they are coming fully prepared to assist. After that, we will move forward," Zelenskyy said.

He also noted that Ukraine is discussing the exchange of assets that are currently in short supply in Ukraine but available in sufficient quantities in the Middle East.

Support for Middle Eastern defenses

Earlier, President Zelenskyy announced that Ukraine will help Middle Eastern countries defend against Iranian drone attacks, stressing that this support should not compromise Ukraine's own defense capabilities.

Ukraine's Defense Intelligence deputy chief Vadym Skibitskiy also confirmed that the country has exceptional experience in intercepting Iranian Shahed drones and is ready to share this expertise with international partners. However, Ukrainian troops will not be deployed to the Middle East mission.
