The Ukrainian delegation will meet again with US officials today, December 5, regarding the peace plan, according to sources and DW correspondent Mykhailo Komadovsky on Twitter (X).

According to sources cited by RBC-Ukraine, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Rustem Umerov and Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Andrii Hnatov will meet with US President’s Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and US President’s son-in-law Jared Kushner in Miami.

A DW correspondent also confirms this information.

"After constructive discussions last night, the delegation resumes work today in Miami. The President will review their report and decide next steps," an unnamed Ukrainian official told Komadovsky.

Ukraine–US negotiations

Earlier, Ukrainian officials held two meetings with US officials to discuss a peace plan aimed at ending Russia’s war against Ukraine.

Initially, Western media reported that the peace plan included 28 points, some of which reflected Russia’s maximalist demands of Ukraine to end the war.

According to reputable Western outlets, Russian officials may have been involved in drafting such a plan.

In particular, Bloomberg published a recording of a conversation between Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov and Russian envoy Kirill Dmitriev. They discussed providing Witkoff with a document containing the conditions for ending the war so that he could supplement it and present it "as an American" plan.

However, as a result of US–Ukraine negotiations, the parties developed a 20-point plan. The most difficult issues have not yet been agreed upon.
