Ukrainian officials have already departed for a meeting with the Russian and US delegations in Abu Dhabi. The talks will take place on February 4–5, according to the evening address of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

According to him, the Ukrainian team continues to work with US officials so that "real solutions for the sake of peace can be scaled up."

"Today there was a meeting with our delegation — the guys are already on their way. The meetings will take place on Wednesday and Thursday. And it will not only be a trilateral format, but there will also be a bilateral format with America," the president said.

Zelenskyy noted that there are issues that need to be coordinated with the US.

"As for security guarantees, we are ready. As for the recovery and further development of Ukraine, officials are working on it — our teams are actively engaged," he added.

The head of the Ukrainian state also said that decisive US support for the dialogue is important so that Russian terror does not derail what can be achieved.

Talks in Abu Dhabi

This will be the second round of talks between Ukraine, the US, and Russia in Abu Dhabi.

The results of the first round were not made public. At the same time, an energy truce came into effect on January 30. Rumors about such a truce initially circulated online, after which US President Donald Trump stated that he had asked the Russian President Vladimir Putin to stop strikes on Kyiv and other cities in Ukraine.

Today, February 2, the Ministry of Energy reported that Russian forces had resumed strikes on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. However, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy clarified that there were no targeted attacks.

Russia has repeatedly rejected the idea of a full truce with Ukraine. Moscow demands that Kyiv hand over the entire Donetsk region under its control.
