Ukrainian defense forces uncover Russian offensive intent near Kupiansk
The Russian army in the Lyman-Kupiansk direction is attempting to break through the Ukrainian defense, particularly in the area of Novoiehorivka, the Luhansk region. The occupiers are trying to create a so-called "corridor," according to Ilia Yevlash, the head of the press service of the Eastern Military Group.
He mentions that there were 5 clashes in the Lyman-Kupiansk direction in the past day, and the attempts by the occupiers were unsuccessful.
"The enemy has focused its attention in the Novoiehorivka direction. They want to create a corridor in our defense precisely in this direction because there are dominant heights near Novoiehorivka," explained the spokesperson.

According to him, the opponent will attempt to "squeeze in" to advance towards the Oskil River. So far, enemy attacks have not been successful, and the Ukrainian Armed Forces are repelling the enemy's assaults.
"Yesterday, our defenders managed to eliminate 126 occupiers in the Lyman-Kupiansk direction, as well as destroy one field depot with ammunition, one vehicle, and seven drones, six of them being of the Lancet type," Yevlash added.
Battles in the Lyman and Kupiansk directions
It was previously reported that the occupiers had intensified their offensive in the Kupiansk and Lyman directions. However, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are successfully repelling the enemy's attacks.
According to the latest reports from the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the aggressors do not abandon their intentions to break through our troops' defenses, so they continue their assaults. Additionally, the Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Hanna Maliar, stated that the Russians are regrouping in the Lyman and Kupiansk directions.
Furthermore, British intelligence suggests that against the backdrop of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' success in the south, Russian occupiers may intensify their offensive in the Kupiansk-Lyman direction over the next two months.
