On the night of October 10, the Defense Forces of Ukraine successfully struck the Khanskaya military airfield in the Republic of Adygea, Russia. The airfield housed Su-34 and Su-35 aircraft as well as Mi-8 helicopters, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Russian air defense operated in the target area and a fire was recorded.

The airfield hosted military aircraft including Su-34 and Su-27. More detailed information regarding the consequences of the strike is currently being clarified.

The operation was carried out by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine, and the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Joint combat actions of Ukrainian units against critical targets of the Russian Armed Forces will continue.

At the same time, sources in the SBU informed RBC-Ukraine that at the time of the attack, 57 units of Russian aviation were at the site, including combat and training aircraft, as well as helicopters. Following the strike, a large fire broke out, accompanied by the detonation of munitions. The exact number of destroyed equipment is currently being clarified, but satellite images confirm significant damage.

According to sources in the SBU, this airfield was used by the Russian military for refueling aircraft and launching missile and bomb strikes against Ukraine. Local authorities have declared an evacuation due to the extensive fires at the scene.

At the same time, drones of the SBU, intelligence, and the Armed Forces of Ukraine struck a warehouse of Iranian Shahed drones in the area of the city of Yeysk. As a result of the attack, several powerful explosions occurred, causing a fire and detonation at the drone storage facility.

Representatives of Ukraine's intelligence emphasize that joint operations of the Defense Forces are destroying Russia's military potential. Ukraine is actively increasing its capabilities for strikes against enemy military facilities deep in the rear.

The consequences of the operations and the losses inflicted on the Russian army are currently being clarified.

Earlier, the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation (CCD), Andrii Kovalenko, reported the destruction of a fuel depot at the Khanskaya military airfield in the Republic of Adygea, Russia. The military facility, located 410 km from the border with Ukraine, sustained significant damage as a result of the strike.
