Ukrainian Defense Forces units struck the Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat oil refining complex in the city of Salavat, Republic of Bashkortostan, Russia, overnight on October 8, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

As a result of the attack, a fire broke out on the premises of the facility.

Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat is one of the largest oil refining and petrochemical complexes in Russia.

The facility has the capacity to process up to 10 million tonnes of hydrocarbon feedstock per year and produces motor gasoline, diesel fuel, fuel oil, bitumen, polyethylene, and other oil refining and petrochemical products.

The facility is involved in meeting the needs of the Russian armed forces.

Ukrainian Defense Forces have already attacked Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat

Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat has previously been targeted by drone attacks.

Thus, on September 24, 2025, an attack damaged the ELOU-AVT-6 primary oil refining unit.

Following the attack on July 14, 2026, a fire broke out at the refinery, and according to OSINT sources, oil refining was completely halted.

Another fire broke out at the facility following an attack on August 13, 2026.
