Ukrainian Defense Forces explain importance of liberating Nestryha island near Kherson

The return of control over Nestryha island in the Kherson region by the Ukrainian Defense Forces will significantly improve the quality of controversial events, according to Dmytro Pletenchuk, head of the Center for Strategic Communications of the Southern Defense Forces.
“It's not about strategy, but about portioned battles, it's more tactical. Locations that do not allow the enemy to approach our positions are important,” the spokesperson says.
He notes that Russia usually uses such locations, so regaining control of the island is of primary importance for the quality of counter-sabotage measures.
“This is our coast... Such islands are mostly swampy, it will take a long time to find them on the map, but it is bigger than the populated coves opposite to which it is located... For some time it was considered a gray zone,” emphasizes Pletenchuk.

Yesterday it was reported that the Ukrainian Defense Forces had regained control of Nestryha island in the Kherson region.
At the same time, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, noted that the Russian troops are not making progress on any of the frontlines and are losing ground near Kherson.
