Ukrainian troops delivered a precise strike on Russian equipment in the Kherson region, targeting and destroying two high-value Russian electronic warfare systems, according to Ukraine’s Southern Defense Forces.

The Southern Ukrainian Defense Forces have discovered the positions of the Russian Borisoglebsk-2 electronic warfare system near the village of Novokamianske in the Kherson region. There were two pieces of military equipment at the position.

The Ukrainian soldiers hit the identified Russian complexes. As a result of the operation, both systems were destroyed.

“This is a very expensive system, capable of carrying out up to 30 different tasks simultaneously,” the Southern Defense Forces noted.

According to recent reports, one such electronic warfare system costs about $200 million, meaning Ukrainian forces eliminated at least $400 million worth of Russian equipment in a single strike.

The Southern Defense Forces also released a video showcasing the successful operation.

What is known about the Borisoglebsk-2 system

Borisoglebsk-2 is a Russian automated electronic warfare system.

The main function of this system is to detect and suppress various communication channels and other systems that use radio signals - tactical-level communication and control systems, including satellite ones, as well as to jam navigation systems.

It is known that the system underwent initial testing in 2009–2010. The first 8 systems were delivered to the Russian army in 2013. The full composition of the system includes nine vehicles equipped with different sets of equipment. All of them are mounted on the chassis of the MT-LB transporter-tractor.

Successes of Ukrainian forces

Ukrainian troops repelled a Russian assault using a Javelin in the Pokrovsk direction and then finished off the enemy tank with a drone, destroying it along with its crew.

In addition, operators of the Phoenix reconnaissance-strike unmanned aerial systems eliminated around ten enemy infantrymen, destroyed an enemy personnel deployment point, and a shelter in the Donetsk region.

Meanwhile, the Favorit strike drone company destroyed enemy infantry fighting vehicles, armored infantry vehicles, and a Ural truck in the Donetsk region. According to the unit's command, two enemy assaults were successfully repelled in one day.
