Ukrainian defenders attack over 52 thousand targets with drones in a month - Commander-in-Chief
Ukrainian commanders held a meeting to discuss the use of drones on the frontline, with defenders targeting over 52,000 enemy objectives in the past month, according to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi.
Commander-in-Chief Syrskyi led the meeting with drone unit commanders and received a report from Colonel Vadym Sukharevskyi, Commander of the Armed Forces' Drone Systems.
During the meeting, participants shared their experiences using drones, interceptor drones, and long-distance missions effectively under enemy electronic warfare (EW) countermeasures. They also focused on implementing new developments, approaches, and tactics.
"I thanked the commanders of combat drone units and their subordinates for their resilience and effectiveness. Special thanks to the crews of the 414th UAV Regiment and the 412th UAV Battalion, who have demonstrated high professionalism and efficiency," Syrskyi said.
According to the Commander-in-Chief, despite challenging weather conditions, drone units are achieving high effectiveness on the battlefield. Strike drones and bombers have been particularly successful, with their operators completing over 7,000 missions.
Syrskyi noted that in October alone, drones destroyed or damaged more than 52,000 enemy targets, including 129 artillery systems, 221 units of enemy radio equipment, and over 4,000 enemy personnel.
Ukrainian armament
During the war, Ukraine ramped up production of drones and other weaponry. Furthermore, Ukraine is working with other countries on weapons production. Defense giant Rheinmetall is constructing four plants in Ukraine, one of which is already operational.
Recently, Ukraine also agreed with Belgian company Thales to produce anti-drone missiles.
According to the Ministry of Defense, Ukraine will soon receive Estonian anti-aircraft missiles for testing. These missiles are intended for neutralizing drones.
