Ukrainian Commander-in-Chief Syrskyi explained situation in Kharkiv direction
Fighting continues in the Kharkiv region. It is taking place in areas along the border with Russia, according to the Telegram channel of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi.
According to him, the situation in the Kharkiv region has significantly escalated this week.
"At the moment, there are battles ongoing in the border areas along the state border with the Russian Federation," the general said.
Syrskyi noted that the situation is complex, but the Ukrainian Defense Forces are doing everything possible to hold the defensive lines and positions, inflicting damage on the enemy.
Situation in the Kharkiv region
According to DeepState maps as of May 12, the Russians have occupied Strelecha, Pylna, Chervone, Borysivka, Ohirtseve, and Pletenivka in the Kharkiv region.
As specified by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on May 12, on the Kharkiv direction, the enemy, with air support, carried out 12 attacks in the areas of settlements Strelecha, Krasne, Morokhivets, Oliinykove, Lukiantsi, Hatyshche, Pletenivka, Pylna, and Vovcha.
At the same time, the occupiers continue to shell Vovchansk and border settlements. According to the latest data from May 10, 4000 people were evacuated from the Kharkiv region, and despite the shelling, 300-400 people remain in Vovchansk.
