Ukrainian Commander-in-Chief: Heavy fighting across frontlines, but no breaches
In recent days, the Russian army has intensified offensive actions simultaneously in several areas. However, Ukraine's Defense Forces did not allow them to achieve operational success, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, stated.
Syrskyi reported that he had a phone conversation with the Chief of the Defence Staff of the United Kingdom, Admiral Tony Radakin.
"I informed my British colleague about the operational situation on the frontline, which remains extremely difficult," he wrote.
According to him, in recent days, the enemy has once again intensified offensive actions simultaneously in several areas.
"Ukraine's Defense Forces, in fierce battles, did not allow the Russians to breach the defense or achieve operational success in any direction," the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine added.
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, 250 combat engagements were recorded on the frontlines on December 18.
In the Kupiansk direction, the number of daily attacks totaled 26. In the Lyman direction, the enemy attacked 24 times.
Ukrainian defenders repelled five enemy attempts to attack positions in the Siversk direction. In the Kramatorsk direction, the enemy tried to advance five times near Chasiv Yar. In the Toretsk direction, the enemy conducted 13 attacks. In the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 48 assault actions. In the Kurakhiv direction, the Defense Forces repelled 25 attacks. In the Vremivka direction, the enemy also carried out 25 assault actions.
According to the General Staff, Russian losses on the frontlines over the past day amounted to 1,530 soldiers, 27 armored fighting vehicles, and 5 tanks.
