For the first time in history, Russian forces surrendered to Ukrainian ground combat robots without infantry involvement, according to the 3rd Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The 3rd Separate Assault Brigade carried out an unprecedented operation in which it liberated fortified enemy positions in the Kharkiv region using only drones and ground-based combat robots.

Enemy fortifications were targeted by FPV drones and kamikaze ground robotic platforms.

"As another robot approached the destroyed dugout, the enemy, in order to avoid being blown up, announced their surrender. The surviving occupiers were guided to our lines by drones, and in accordance with protocol, were taken prisoner," the video caption states.

The Russian soldiers who survived were led to Ukrainian positions with the help of drones and then captured according to military regulations.

The brigade reported that thanks to well-coordinated offensive actions, the cleared fortifications and forest belt were secured by Ukrainian Armed Forces units.

Russian POW captures

Earlier, we reported that last month, paratroopers carried out a successful operation in the Sumy region, during which 15 servicemen of the Russian army were taken prisoner. Among them were fighters from some of Russia's brigades known for their particular cruelty to Ukrainian prisoners of war.

Before that, soldiers from the Ukrainian Special Operations Forces captured several dozen Russian marines in the Kursk region. Notably, servicemen from Russia’s 810th Naval Infantry Brigade were taken prisoner on the very day Russia celebrates Marine Corps Day.

Today, we also reported that paratroopers from the 77th Separate Airmobile Brigade used a drone to force a Russian officer to surrender.
