On New Year's night, Russians carried out several attacks with strike drones on Odesa, resulting in several incidents in the city. These included damaged buildings, fires, and other consequences, Odesa Regional Military Administration head Serhii Lysak reported.

According to him, in Odesa, as a result of Russian attacks, drone crashes and falling debris were recorded, fires broke out at infrastructure facilities, and residential buildings were damaged.

"All fires were promptly extinguished. Rescuers, explosive experts, and municipal services were working," the official reported.

Lysak also noted that on the previous day, December 31, two important events took place for the city:

"First, Odesa once again felt the support of the entire country: due to the temporary suspension of electric transport, other cities responded, and in the near future, we will receive buses from Lviv, Mykolaiv, Mariupol, Zhytomyr, and Kropyvnytskyi. I thank the city leaders and Deputy Prime Minister for the Restoration of Ukraine, Oleksii Kuleba, for their support during this difficult time!" the head of the Military Administration wrote.

In addition, in the regional center, as Lysak stated, a new volunteer territorial community unit called "Odesa" officially began its work.

"I visited the fighters and thanked them for their readiness to defend the city. The guys have already taken up their first duty and have combat experience. That night, they successfully defended their area, for which I am especially grateful. This is an important reinforcement for Odesa!" the head of the administration concluded.

Odesa was among the cities attacked by the enemy on the night from December 31 to January 1. Energy infrastructure in the region was later damaged, and a fire broke out.
