World heavyweight boxing champion Oleksandr Usyk has invited US President Donald Trump to visit Ukraine, according to BBC Sport.

"I advise American President Donald Trump to come to Ukraine and live in my house for one week. Only one week. I will give him my house. Live please in Ukraine and watch what is going on every night. Every night there are bombs and flights above my house. Bombs, rockets. Every night. It's enough," Usyk said in his address to the American leader.

He didn't hold back his emotions—speaking candidly, without diplomatic filters, as someone who sees the war not on TV, but through the window of his home.

"I don't know. Maybe he'll understand, maybe he won't. Ukrainian people are dying. It's not just military guys, but children, women, grandmothers, grandfathers. For me it's hard. It's my country. I worry about what happens in my country," the champion said.

Against the backdrop of such a statement, the gesture made in February 2025 looked especially symbolic: then Volodymyr Zelenskyy handed over Usyk's championship belt to Trump as a sign of gratitude for supporting Ukraine.

However, the meeting itself turned out to be tense: after a public argument, the President of Ukraine left the White House early.

Earlier, Usyk's wife shared touching photos with their youngest daughter.
