Currently, there is no increase in the activity of Russian sabotage and reconnaissance groups (SRGs). However, the threat remains, states the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine (SBGS) spokesperson, Andrii Demchenko, according to the Media Center Ukraine.

"The activity of enemy sabotage and reconnaissance groups is not increasing at the moment. In fact, their activity decreased some time ago, and we do not see regularity or significant use of SRGs by the enemy. However, the threat from them has not disappeared," Demchenko stated.

He added that the decrease in the activity of enemy SRGs is partly due to the operation carried out by the Defense Forces in the territory of Russia's Kursk region.

Threat from Russian sabotage and reconnaissance groups

During the full-scale war in Ukraine, Russian sabotage and reconnaissance groups (SRGs) have become one of the tools of aggression. Their tasks include infiltrating Ukrainian-controlled territories to gather intelligence, organize sabotage, undermine infrastructure, and destabilize the situation.

Ukraine's Defense Forces effectively counter this threat, often detecting and neutralizing such groups before they can reach their targets.

Recently, it was reported that Russia has been deploying SRGs in the northern part of the Kharkiv region to probe various directions.
