Ukrainian assault brigade wipes out Russian position in Toretsk and takes prisoner

Fighters of the special operations battalion Enei of the National Police's combined assault brigade Liut destroyed an enemy firing position in Toretsk, according to the National Police.
The unit reported that Russian forces had set up a firing point inside one of the residential buildings in Toretsk and attempted to shell Ukrainian positions from there. Ukrainian soldiers detected the enemy position and carried out a precise strike.
After a series of targeted attacks, the enemy forces were eliminated, and one soldier was taken prisoner.
The unit noted that the coordinated actions of the fighters ensured the rapid destruction of the threat and the successful completion of the mission.
Toretsk is the administrative center of the Toretsk community in the Bakhmut district of the Donetsk region. Until 2016, the city was known as Dzerzhynsk. It is located at an altitude of about 179 meters above sea level. Historically, Toretsk was a mining and industrial hub of Donbas, with coal mining, chemical, and mechanical engineering industries dominating.
Today, Toretsk is among the cities most affected by the war. During the ongoing war in Ukraine, it has suffered extensive destruction, its population has drastically decreased, and its infrastructure is in critical condition. The city remains on the front line.
Situation at the front
Earlier this summer, Lieutenant Colonel Dmytro Zaporozhets, spokesperson for the Operational-Tactical Group Luhansk, reported that the enemy had changed its tactics in the Toretsk direction. Instead of large-scale attacks, Russian forces now use small infantry groups of three to four soldiers trying to approach Ukrainian defense positions unnoticed.
Moreover, as noted in the material by RBC-Ukraine, Russian troops have been steadily advancing for more than six months due to their shift in tactics, which involves infiltration and creeping maneuvers along the front line.
