Ukrainian Armed Forces take measures to stabilize situation in the Pokrovsk direction
The Pokrovsk direction remains the hottest on the front line, with nearly three dozen clashes reported here over the past day. Russian forces continue their attempts to infiltrate Ukrainian defenders' positions, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Military command provided an update on the operational situation as of 23:30 on June 6.
Russian shelling
During the current day, Russian forces have launched 1 missile strike using 2 rockets and conducted 35 air strikes with 58 UAVs on Ukrainian territory.
Additionally, the Russian army has deployed 477 kamikaze drones for attacks.
Moreover, the enemy has carried out nearly 2,734 shelling attacks on positions of the Ukrainian defense forces and civilian areas using various types of weaponry.
Frontline situation
As of now, 73 combat clashes have occurred, according to the General Staff.
In the Kharkiv direction, the Russian army did not conduct active offensive operations but attempted to displace Ukrainian units by inflicting intense fire. The situation is under control.
In the Kupiansk direction, Russian forces have been trying throughout the day to advance towards Ukrainian positions in the areas of Druzhelubivka and Petropavlivka. Three enemy attacks were repelled by the Defense Forces.
In the Lyman direction, the enemy attacked 11 times in the areas of Nevske, Serebryansky Forestry, Terni, and Myasozharivka. There were no losses of territories or positions.
In the Siversk direction, the enemy attempted 5 times to breach the defense of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the areas of Bilohorivka and Verkhniokamianske but was unsuccessful. The situation is under control.
In the Kramatorsk direction, the activity of the Russian army was limited to 5 combat clashes. 4 attacks in the areas of Ivanivske, Klishchiivka, and Kalynivka were successfully repelled by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The situation is tense, with 1 ongoing battle in the Kalynivka area.
The enemy has shown the most activity today in the Pokrovsk direction. Since the beginning of the day, Russian forces have attempted 28 times to infiltrate the defense of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the areas of Novoselivka Persha, Sokil, Yevhenivka, Kalynove, Novooleksandrivka, Yasnobrodivka, Novopokrovsk, and Progres.
"Currently, 22 enemy attacks have been repelled, with 6 clashes ongoing. Our defenders are taking measures to stabilize the situation and prevent the enemy from advancing further into Ukrainian territory," the General Staff reported.
In the Kurakhove direction, the enemy attacked the positions of the Defense Forces 5 times in the areas of Paraskoviivka and Krasnohorivka. They were unsuccessful. The situation is under the control of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
In the Vremivka direction, the occupiers attempted 9 unsuccessful assaults on the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the areas of Staramayorske, Urozhaine, and Novodarivka.
There have been no significant changes in the situation in the Orikhiv and Prydniprovsk directions, which remain under the control of the Defense Forces with no losses of positions or territories.
There have been no significant changes in the situation in the rest of the directions.
Strikes on enemy targets
The General Staff reported that since the beginning of June 6, units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces' aviation, missile troops, and artillery have delivered strikes:
- on 4 areas where personnel are concentrated,
- on 1 area where weaponry and military equipment are concentrated,
- on 1 air defense system,
- and on 1 enemy radar system.
Earlier, Nazar Voloshyn, spokesperson for the Khortytsia operational and strategic group of troops, stated that the situation in the Pokrovsk direction indicates that Russian forces are likely trying to advance towards Pokrovsk, Myrnohrad, and Selydove.
