Russia attempts to advance on Pokrovsk, Myrnohrad, and Selydove - Ukrainian Armed Forces
The situation in the Pokrovsk sector, which has recently become one of the hottest areas on the frontline, suggests that Russia is probably trying to develop an offensive on Pokrovsk, Myrnohrad, and Selydove, according to Nazar Voloshyn, spokesperson for the Khortytsia operational and strategic group of troops.
"The main efforts of the Russian troops are probably focused on trying to break through Ukrainian defense and develop an offensive in the direction of the settlements of Pokrovsk, Myrnohrad, and Selydove. The situation in the Netailove area is characterized by high enemy activity,” he states.
According to the spokesperson, in particular, Russia is trying to reach the large settlements of Kurakhove and Pokrovsk to develop an offensive west of Avdiivka and Maryinka.
And of course, after Ocheretyne they are rushing to the Pokrovsk-Konstiantynivka highway. Perhaps they have a goal to capture Pokrovsk and the vital highway to Kostyantynivka,” notes Voloshyn.
Situation in Pokrovsk sector
The Pokrovsk sector remains the hottest along the entire contact line. Almost 220 Russian attacks took place there over the past week alone.
“Only 32 Russian attacks took place over the last day, 4 Russian attacks were repelled in the morning and 6 combat engagements are still ongoing,” notes Voloshyn.
We would like to add that according to the General Staff, the Russian invaders continue to exert pressure and continue to try to break into the defense of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Pokrovsk sector.
In addition, the Russian occupiers dropped guided aerial bombs on Selydove late in the evening, and 7 people were wounded.
