The Russian troops are trying to increase the number of weapons on the Kinburn Spit. They may be planning an assault, states Vladyslav Voloshyn, spokesperson for the Southern Defense Forces.

According to Voloshyn, Russian troops continue to increase their presence on the Kinburn Spit to conduct assaults and possibly force the territory in the area where the Dnipro River flows into the Black Sea.

“We have a rather tense situation there now,” Voloshyn noted.

He also added that last week the Russian forces deployed a division of boats from Sevastopol to control the area.

The Kinburn Spit is located in the northwestern part of the Kinburn Peninsula between the Black Sea and the Dnipro-Bug Estuary.

Part of the spit is part of the Black Sea Biosphere Reserve, which is now on the front line.

The Ukrainian Navy recently explained the importance of the Kinburn Spit.

RBC-Ukraine also wrote that in August, the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine's special forces raided the Kinburn Spit. At the same time, the scouts destroyed several units of enemy armored vehicles and dozens of Russian invaders.
