Ukrainian Armed Forces halt advance of Russian forces in Kursk region
The Armed Forces of Ukraine have halted the advance of Russian troops in the Kursk region. Part of the territory remains under the control of the Defense Forces, according to a comment from Oleksii Dmytrashkivskyi, a representative of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Command and spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, to AFP.
According to him, in the Kursk region, Russian troops attempted to attack the positions of Ukrainian Armed Forces units from the flanks. However, the enemy's attempts were halted.
Dmytrashkivskyi noted that the situation has stabilized and is currently under the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Despite this, the enemy has achieved partial success.
"The Russians entered one of the settlements. They started fighting for another settlement, but that was it," the representative of the Command stated.
He also added that a significant number of civilians remain in the part of the Kursk region controlled by Ukraine. In some settlements, there are more than a hundred, and even over 500 residents.
