Ukrainian Armed Forces deny rumors about invasion of coke chemical plant in Avdiivka
The Ukrainian military currently has control of the Avdiivka coke-chemical plant. However, Russian occupiers are making aggressive attempts to seize the facility, as reported by the 47th Separate Mechanized Brigade on Telegram.
Defenders stress that the occupiers persist in their daily attempts to storm Avdiivka. The focus remains on infantry, with occasional use of armored vehicles. The joint efforts of the 47th Separate Mechanized Brigade and adjacent units result in the elimination of the occupiers, inflicting significant losses on the Russian forces.
The fighters also quash rumors regarding the supposed advancement of the enemy onto the Avdiivka coke-chemical plant.
"Additionally, the enemy is making vigorous yet unsuccessful attempts to breach the coke-chemical plant's premises. Control of the plant lies with the Armed Forces of Ukraine," underscore the soldiers.
Battles for Avdiivka
In early October, Russian occupiers escalated hostilities in the Avdiivka area, marking the largest offensive since 2014.
Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Valerii Zaluzhnyi, revealed that the occupiers suffered substantial losses, estimating at least 10,000 soldiers in the Avdiivka battles. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that Russian casualties in the Avdiivka region surpass those in Bakhmut.
Ukrainian military clarified that capturing Avdiivka hinges on controlling the territory of the Avdiivka coke-chemical plant.
