Information spread in social networks about the alleged deaths of 108 soldiers from a brigade in the Avdiivka direction is false, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"The information on social media about the alleged 108 deaths in one of the brigades in the Avdiivka direction on Christmas Eve is fake," the statement says.

Earlier, social media spread information about the alleged deaths of 108 defenders of one of the brigades in the Avdiivka direction. It was claimed that they were released home for a week before Christmas.

The situation at the frontline

Over the last day, 98 combat engagements were registered in the frontline. The Ukrainian Defense Forces are holding steady near Avdiivka and inflicting significant losses on the invaders. Over the past day, they repelled 27 occupants' attacks east of Novobakhmutivka, Stepove, and Avdiivka.

In addition, on the night of December 26, a powerful explosion occurred in the port of Feodosia, and Russian media reported that air defense forces were operating.

The Ukrainian Defense Forces destroyed a large Russian landing ship Novocherkassk.
