Ukrainian Defense Forces continue their operations in the Dobropillia direction. During the course of combat operations, 43 Russian troops and Russian military equipment were destroyed, according to Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi.

"Our soldiers are advancing. Over the past day, control over 1.3 square kilometers has been restored, and the Russian troops have been searched for and destroyed in an area of 2.1 square kilometers in the Pokrovsk district of Donetsk region," he says.

According to him, assault units advanced from 200 meters to 2.5 kilometers in certain areas. During the fighting, 43 Russian troops were killed, with total Russian losses amounting to 65 people. 11 pieces of Russian military equipment were also destroyed, including 4 artillery systems, 6 drones, and a motorcycle.

"In total, as of midnight on September 22, 2025, 164.5 square kilometers have been liberated, and another 180.8 square kilometers have been cleared of Russian sabotage groups. Control over seven settlements has been restored, and 9 have been cleared of Russian saboteurs," Syrskyi says.

He stresses that the exchange fund for the return of Ukrainian defenders from Russian captivity continues to be replenished.

The total losses of the Russian troops in the Dobropillia direction amount to 2,696 troops, of which 1,492 are irretrievable.

Also destroyed are 856 units of Russian weapons and military equipment, including 12 tanks, 38 armored combat vehicles, 175 artillery systems, 5 MLRS, 441 vehicles, 58 motorcycles and ATVs, 1 special vehicle, and 173 drones.

Situation near Dobropillia

Earlier, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, stated that the Ukrainian defenders had advanced 3 to 7 km into the Dobropillia direction. During the counteroffensive in this direction, the Ukrainian military managed to liberate 7 settlements.

At the same time, according to the head of the Assault Units Directorate, Valentyn Manko, Ukrainian troops are conducting one of the most successful operations in recent months in the Dobropillia direction. There, Russian troops found themselves in an operational encirclement, and their losses exceeded those of Ukraine several times over.
