Ukrainian Armed Forces achieved success in Kupiansk direction - General Staff
The situation on the front lines in Ukraine remains under the control of the Defense Forces. Ukrainian defenders in the Kupiansk direction have been active and successful, inflicting significant losses on the enemy, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The military command has updated data on the operational situation on the front as of 23:00 on May 25.
Russian attacks
Since the beginning of the day, there have been 110 combat engagements on the front lines.
The enemy has launched 5 missile strikes (using 8 missiles) and 34 airstrikes (49 sorties) on Ukrainian territory, and deployed 381 kamikaze drones. The Russian army has also conducted 2433 shelling attacks on positions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces and civilian areas using various types of weapons.
The Russian army launched missile strikes and dropped guided bombs on Kharkiv. Overall, the enemy has carried out 3 missile strikes using 6 missiles on civilian infrastructure and residential areas.
The General Staff added that the Russian army, in particular, fired a missile at a park and conducted 2 airstrikes on a building hypermarket, resulting in a fire.
"As a result of the terrorist actions of the Russian army, civilians have suffered. Unfortunately, there are fatalities, injuries, and civilians missing as a result," the report said.
Frontline situation
The situation on the front lines remains tense but under the control of the Defense Forces.
"Our soldiers continue to decisively resist attempts by the Russian army to advance into the depths of Ukrainian territory, focusing their efforts on thwarting the invaders' plans for an offensive," the General Staff reported.
In the Kharkiv direction on May 25, there were 13 combat engagements. As of now, combat operations are still ongoing in the areas of the settlements of Neskuchne and Starytsia in the Kharkiv direction.
According to preliminary data, enemy losses on this front since the beginning of the day amounted to 100 personnel. 1 tank, 2 artillery systems, and 2 units of automotive equipment were destroyed. Additionally, 1 artillery system and 1 vehicle were damaged.
In the Kupiansk direction, there were 14 combat engagements. Defense Forces successfully repelled enemy attacks in the areas of the settlements of Synkivka and Petropavlivka.
Near Miasozharivka, Druzheliubivka, and Nevske, fighting is still ongoing. Furthermore, the Defense Forces have been active in this area and have achieved success.
Preliminary data indicates that the total enemy losses on this front during the day amounted to 47 personnel. 1 enemy MTLB, 2 units of automotive equipment, the Murom-P observation station, and 2 ammunition depots were destroyed. Additionally, 2 tanks and 1 infantry fighting vehicle were damaged, according to the General Staff.
In the Lyman direction, Defense Forces units repelled 5 attacks by the Russian army in the areas of Terni, Torske, and Serebriansky Forestry. It is noted that the situation is under control and there have been no losses of positions.
In the Siversk direction, the number of enemy assault actions increased to 13 in the evening. The situation remains tense in the area of Bilohorivka, where the enemy is trying to wedge into our defense.
"At the same time, Ukrainian defenders have taken a number of measures to strengthen defensive positions," the military command reported.
In the Kramatorsk direction, the Russian army attacked Defense Forces units 12 times in the direction of Chasiv Yar, Ivanivka, and Klishchiivka. The attacks were unsuccessful.
Currently, fighting is ongoing in the area of Andriivka. The situation is under control, the General Staff added.
The enemy intensively attacked Ukrainian defenders in the Pokrovsk direction. Throughout the day, sometimes with air support using guided bombs, the aggressor carried out 23 assault actions and attempted to significantly increase fire control efforts along almost the entire confrontation line.
"Intensive fighting is ongoing in the area of Novooleksandrivka. Defense Forces are taking measures to stabilize the situation," the General Staff reported.
The enemy's preliminary losses on this front amounted to nearly 200 occupiers killed and wounded. 1 enemy Su-25 aircraft, 3 BMPs, and 3 APCs were destroyed. Additionally, 3 enemy tanks, 1 APC, 2 mortars, and 3 units of automotive equipment were damaged.
At the beginning of the day, the situation was also tense in the Kurakhove direction. Currently, there have been 14 combat engagements in this area. The enemy is trying to advance in the areas of the settlements of Krasnohorivka, Paraskoviivka, and Vodiane.
The military command noted that the Defense Forces are taking urgent measures to stabilize the situation and restrain the enemy's advances.
The enemy's preliminary losses on this front amounted to nearly 90 occupiers killed and wounded. 1 BMP, 1 MTLB, and 3 units of automotive equipment were destroyed. Additionally, 1 tank was damaged.
In the Vremivka direction, the enemy made 1 unsuccessful attempt to breach the defense of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the direction of Staromaiorske. The attempt was unsuccessful.
In the Orikhiv direction, the enemy attacked 3 times and failed in the areas of Robotyne and Novoandriivka.
In the Prydniprovsk direction, the Russian army unsuccessfully tried 9 times to push back our units from Krynyky. During the battles, the Russian army was unsuccessful, and there were no losses of Ukrainian positions.
The General Staff added that Ukrainian defenders were inflicting significant losses on the Russian army, actively using firepower against enemy personnel and equipment.
"Measures are being taken to improve the tactical position on designated fronts," the report said.
Earlier, in the daily report from May 25, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that the highest number of combat engagements were recorded in the Kupiansk, Pokrovsk, and Kurakhove directions.
The military command also noted that the Defense Forces are keeping Russian troops under intense fire control and exhausting their potential.
