Ukrainian Air Force aircraft are operating in the skies over Russia's Kursk region. The pilots are conducting daily strikes on Russian targets, according to Mykola Oleshchuk, commander of the Ukrainian Air Force.

One of the pilots of the Ukrainian Air Force was flying a mission in the sky over the Kursk region. He dropped a bomb on a Russian facility, causing a fire to break out over a large area of the site.

Ukrainian Armed Forces offensive in Kursk region

On August 6, Ukrainian troops launched an offensive in the Kursk region of Russia. The purpose of the operation is to protect residents of Ukraine's border regions from Russian shelling and to create a buffer zone.

As of 19 August, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukrainian forces controlled more than 1,250 square kilometers of Russian territory and 92 settlements in the Kursk region.

Vladimir Putin ordered his military to push Ukrainian troops out of the Kursk region, but not to withdraw from key areas in Donbas.

Earlier, the media reported that Russia was allegedly withdrawing its troops from the front line in Ukraine to stop the advance of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kursk region. At the same time, the head of the Lithuanian Ministry of Defense said that Russia was sending forces from the Kaliningrad region to the Kursk region.
