The Ukrainian Air Force successfully targeted a military facility of the 28th Rifle Battalion of the 60th Motorized Rifle Brigade of the Russian Armed Forces in the area of Troitskoye in the Kursk region, according to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The strike destroyed enemy blindages, and firing points, and resulted in the deaths of up to 30 Russian soldiers involved in combat operations against Ukraine.

The location had been used for planning and carrying out attacks, including launching FPV drones against Ukrainian positions.

“Ukraine's defense forces are ready to continue operations to destroy Russian military facilities until Russia stops its armed aggression against the Ukrainian people,” the statement said.

Kursk operation

Last August, the Ukrainian Armed Forces launched an operation in Russia’s Kursk region, marking the first instance of combat operations on Russian territory since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. Ukrainian troops crossed the border near the city of Sudzha in the Kursk region.

During the first days of the operation, Ukrainian forces took control of several hundred square kilometers of Russian territory, creating a buffer zone to prevent new offensives in Sumy and Kharkiv regions.

On January 11, it was reported that Ukrainian defenders had captured two North Korean soldiers in the Kursk region. The captured soldiers reported significant losses among the North Korean military contingent.

Recently, one of the captured North Korean soldiers shared details about their journey to Russia, stating that they were transported by ferry and then by train, remaining in complete information isolation throughout their deployment.
