Ukrainian Air Force reveals details of Russian drone flight through Moldova
The Russian drone that flew through Moldova during the February 27 attack on Ukraine had "very difficult maneuvering." It flew several kilometers there, according to Natalia Humeniuk, head of the Joint Coordination Press Center of the Southern Defense Forces of Ukraine.
"One of the drones, which was aimed at the Odesa region, had very difficult maneuvering. A route was provocatively laid out to cross the state border on its Ukrainian-Moldovan section. We recorded this border crossing, and after flying there for several tens of kilometers, the drone returned to the airspace of Ukraine and was destroyed by Ukrainian Air Defense Forces," she says.
Commenting on the reaction of Chisinau, which denied the flight of the Russian drone through the territory of Moldova, the spokesperson notes that they most likely do not have enough information on this.
"Unfortunately, we already have such experience during Russia's full-scale invasion. First, they say nothing happened, and then the situation is clarified. Likely, the preliminary information was not very thoroughly checked. We will continue to cooperate with our partners and I think that the situation will be clarified soon," adds Humeniuk.
Russian shelling of Ukraine
The Russian occupiers launched 13 Shahed-type kamikaze drones, Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles, four Kh-59 guided missiles, and one Kh-31P anti-aircraft missile at Ukraine during the night of February 27. The Ukrainian air defense system shot down 11 drones and 2 missiles.
At the same time, the Moldovan Defense Ministry said that the Russian military's attack drones launched during another air attack by Ukraine on the evening of Monday, February 27, did not enter the territory of Moldova. The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine does not see anything sensational in this case, as this is not the first time this has happened.
