Russians attack Ukraine with drones and missiles overnight: Ukrainian military reports shootdowns
On the night of February 27, the Russian invaders launched 13 Shahed-type kamikaze drones, Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles, four Kh-59 guided missiles, and one Kh-31P anti-radar missile for an air attack on Ukraine. The Air Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed 11 drones and 2 missiles, according to the Command of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and the Defense Forces of Southern Ukraine.

The defenders of the sky note that combat work to repel the air attack took place within five regions, namely:
- Kharkiv,
- Sumy;
- Dnipropetrovsk;
- Khmelnytskyi;
- Kirovohrad regions.
Where missiles and drones were launched from
Russians launched Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles from the Russian Voronezh region, Kh-59 guided missiles and Kh-31P anti-radar missiles from the temporarily occupied parts of Kherson and Donetsk regions, and Shaheds from Primorsko-Akhtarsk and Kursk regions (Russia).

"Fighter aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units of the Air Force, mobile fire groups, and electronic warfare equipment of the Ukrainian Defense Forces are involved in repelling the air attack," the military says.
The Southern Defense Forces added that both Kh-59 missiles were destroyed in the Dnipropetrovsk region, and 4 Shaheds were destroyed in the Kirovohrad region.
"The enemy provocatively directed the route of one of the drones along a trajectory that crossed the Ukrainian-Moldovan section of the state border in the Odesa region. The drone flew over the territory of the neighboring state for several kilometers and re-entered the airspace of Ukraine, where it was subsequently destroyed by the Ukrainian Air Defense Forces," the South Command reports.
Russian air attacks on Ukraine on night of February 27
Earlier it was reported that the Russian invaders launched Shahed-type attack drones and missiles during their next air attack on the territory of Ukraine on Monday evening and Tuesday night. An alert was declared in several regions.
The Air Force Command also claimed to have spotted Russian Shaheds near the border with Moldova, and some monitoring groups reported that they even flew into the country. However, later in the night, the Moldovan Ministry of Defense issued a statement emphasizing that no drones had entered their airspace.
The Moldovan Ministry of Defense also added that the Ukrainian side had confirmed to them that all the Shahedas launched over the Odesa region "were destroyed or jammed by Ukrainian air defense."
Also, the head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, Serhii Lysak, reported that a Russian drone was shot down over the region, and later added that Ukrainian air defense shot down two cruise missiles in the Kryvyi Rih district.
Later, the Ukrainian Air Force reported groups of enemy attack drones maneuvering in the region and also stated the threat of Russian ballistic missile strikes. In addition, there was a threat of air strikes.
After 2 a.m., explosions were reported in Poltava, but later the head of the Poltava Regional Military Administration, Philip Pronin, said that no hits were recorded in the region and that there were no casualties.
