Ukrainian Air Force reports on repelling Russian combined attack overnight
The Ukrainian air defense forces repelled Russia's combined attack last night and shot down all Russian cruise missiles and almost 50 Shahed drones, according to Lieutenant General Mykola Oleshchuk, commander of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Russia launched Kh-101/Kh-555 air-launched cruise missiles and 53 Shahed-131/136 drones overnight.
Peculiarity of Russian attack
Oleshchuk clarifies that the Russian occupiers attacked critical infrastructure facilities in Ukraine with Tu-95MS strategic aircraft. The missiles were launched by bombers from the airspace of the Saratov region of Russia.
Russia launched kamikaze drones from the areas of Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Yeysk, and Kursk (Russia), as well as from Cape Chauda in the temporarily occupied Crimea.

“As a result of the air battle, 48 attack UAVs and 5 Kh-101/Kh-555 cruise missiles were shot down in Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia, Kirovohrad, Mykolaiv, Kherson, Odesa, Kharkiv, Kyiv, and Khmelnytskyi regions,” the general says in a statement.
Oleshchuk adds that mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, fighter aircraft, anti-aircraft, and electronic warfare units of the Air Force of Ukraine repelled Russian air attacks.
